The Markets Strong U.S. economic growth made additional interest rate hikes lightly. The likelihood of additional hikes and weak earnings from a couple key technology companies was not enough to overcome positive news earlier in the week on trade between the European Union and the United States. The Markets The stock market had a rather boring week. The S&P 500 stayed in a tight range throughout the week and finished basically unchanged. The Markets The positive U.S. jobs report released Friday contributed to a strong week for global stocks and bonds. The Markets Stock markets finished the quarter on a down note. The S&P 500 and the global MSCI ACWI both dropped 1.3 percent. The Bloomberg BarCap Aggregate Bond Index shrugged off higher inflation and rose 0.3 percent last week. The second quarter was a good one for U.S. stock investors.
